Strachan tells Agathe: 'look elsewhere'

Celtic manager Gordon Strachan believes Didier Agathe should “look elsewhere” as Leeds and Middlesbrough lead the chase for the wing-back.

The 30-year-old was brought to the club from Hibernian by former boss Martin O’Neill in 2000 and became an integral member of the first team.

But the Frenchman has found himself out of favour with the Hoops this season.

Strachan said: “Didier has been asked to go to Leeds on loan for the rest of the season.

“And Middlesbrough would like to take him. They want to meet with him and work with him for a couple of days.

“His contract is up in the summer and it would be better for him to go and look elsewhere.”

The form of Paul Telfer this season has seen Agathe struggle to find a place in the starting line-up and he has made just four substitute appearances this year.
