Jamie Carragher admits he was left scratching his head after leaving the pitch in Yokohama without a Club World Championship winners’ medal.

The Liverpool vice-captain saw his team-mates squander countless chances to beat Sao Paulo but ultimately Mineiro’s 27th-minute strike separated the teams.
