De Zeeuw back for Wigan
Wigan captain Arjan de Zeeuw returned to the side after missing the last two matches with a knee injury, replacing Stephane Henchoz after he sustained a dead leg in Wednesday’s 4-0 loss at Manchester United.
That was one of four changes as boss Paul Jewell went into the game without Josip Skoko [groin] and David Connolly [Achilles], while Alan Mahon was dropped to the bench.
In looking to end a run of five straight Premiership defeats, Graham Kavanagh and Lee McCulloch were recalled, while Gary Teale was handed his first Premiership start since August 20.
After ending their own run of six successive defeats with last week’s 2-0 home victory over Sunderland, Charlton manager Alan Curbishley opted to name an unchanged side.
