Addicks optimistic about Bent

Charlton hope to have leading scorer Darren Bent available for the Barclays Premiership match at Wigan tomorrow, although the striker has been struggling with a hamstring problem.

Fellow frontman Jay Bothroyd, however, is unlikely to feature despite resuming training following neurological tests after he blacked out while driving on Monday.

Shaun Bartlett is expected to make the squad again after coming off the bench in last weekend’s win over Sunderland to mark his return from injury, while Uruguay defender Gonzalo Sorondo, Jonathan Spector, and Jason Euell are all pressing for selection. Kevin Lisbie (knee) is out.
