Arsenal’s Thierry Henry is being urged by UEFA to meet Luis Aragones, the Spain coach who was fined €3,000 for calling him a “black ****”.

European football’s governing body want Henry to meet Aragones at a Soccer Against Racism event taking place in Barcelona in February.

UEFA chief executive Lars-Christer Olsson told The Sun: “We want this event to surpass any anti-racist initiative we have held before and a gesture like this would do everything to help.”

Aragones made his comments to Jose Reyes last October during a training session ahead of a World Cup qualifying game against Belgium, with a television crew capturing his outburst.
