Redknapp delight over discussions

Harry Redknapp is delighted to hear the chairmen of Portsmouth and Southampton are now in discussions which could free him up to take over at Fratton Park.

Southampton rejected the first offer of up to £125,000 (€185,670) in compensation from Pompey chairman Milan Mandaric as “derisory” but it appears the two south coast rivals may be able to reach an agreement, with a press conference later in the day still a possibility.
