McCarthy weary as Sunderland struggle goes on

Sunderland boss Mick McCarthy knows he is under pressure - because he has not had Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric on the phone.

The 46-year-old Yorkshireman saw his side slip to their eighth successive defeat, seven of them in the Barclays Premiership, at home to Liverpool last night to leave the Wearside faithful in despair.
