Rooney inspires United to win over Hammers
West Ham 1 Man Utd 2
Manchester United climbed to second in the Premiership table after coming from behind to beat West Ham at Upton Park, where fans had paid an emotional farewell to George Best with a minute’s applause before kick-off.
The Hammers went ahead after just 52 seconds through Marlon Harewood’s close-range strike.
But goals from Wayne Rooney and defender John O’Shea in the space of 10 second-half minutes turned the game around for United.
