Manchester United made just one change for today’s Premiership clash with West Ham at Upton Park, where there was to be a minute’s applause in memory of George Best.

Korean midfielder Ji-Sung Park replaced Ronaldo in the starting XI, as Alex Ferguson kept faith with most of the side who had drawn 0-0 with Villarreal in the Champions League.

Full-back Gary Neville and striker Louis Saha, both returning to full match fitness, were again among the substitutes.

For West Ham, goalkeeper Roy Carroll returned from an enforced five-match absence because of a knee problem to face his former club.

Veteran striker Teddy Sheringham, who won the treble with the Red Devils in 1999, led the West Ham attack.

Man Utd: Van der Sar, Brown, Ferdinand, Silvestre, O’Shea, Fletcher, Smith, Scholes, Park, Rooney, van Nistelrooy.
