Mourinho may blood Diarra

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho hinted he may give Claude Makelele’s understudy Lassana Diarra the chance to prove he is ready to take over from the master by including him in his starting line-up for tonight’s Group G clash with rock-bottom Anderlecht in Brussels.

Makelele is out for at least three weeks, although Mourinho refused to set a target for the France midfielder’s return from the knee injury he sustained in a collision with former Chelsea team-mate Scott Parker during their Barclays Premiership clash against Newcastle.
