Birmingham match postponed

Birmingham’s Barclays Premiership clash with Bolton tonight was called off because of fog at St Andrews.

Referee Phil Dowd completed an initial inspection of the ground immersed in fog but did not postpone the fixture until 6.55pm, just prior to gates opening for supporters.

The pitch was playable but the poor visibility could be considered a danger to players and fans.

Officials now must come to an arrangement when to play the fixture, with the lack of a match this week meaning Steve Bruce’s side remain second from bottom in the table and four points away from Everton above them.
