Spector absent for Addicks

American defender Jonathan Spector will be unavailable for Charlton’s Barclays Premiership clash with Manchester United at The Valley under the terms of his season-long loan deal.

Midfielder Alexei Smertin looks to have recovered from his groin problem and should return, while England Under-21 winger Jerome Thomas (hamstring) is also expected to feature in the squad and fit-again veteran keeper Dean Kiely could start in place of Stephan Andersen.
