Latics keen for Chimbonda talks

Wigan are set to offer defender Pascal Chimbonda a new contract in an attempt to close a loophole in his current agreement which would allow him to leave in January.

The Guadeloupe-born right-back signed a three-year deal in the summer after arriving from Bastia for £500,000 (€735,000) but written into that was a buy-out clause.
