Rovers and City face up for must-win clash
Shamrock Rovers and Cork City face a must-win clash tonight as both sides look for the three points to meet their own aims.
Shamrock Rovers need just two points to stave off automatic relegation but are still in serious danger of ending up in the play-offs and need the points tonight to climb above rivals Waterford United who are two points clear of them.
Cork City, meanwhile, have slipped two points behind League leaders Derry City and need the win to stay on course for their first eircom League title since 1993.
With so much at stake, the game is sure to be tense though Cork will hope they can once again enjoy the upper hand having beaten Rovers twice already this season.
Rovers are without the suspended Gavin McDonnell while Trevor Molloy and Tony Sheridan are both struggling with knee injuries though manager Roddy Collins hopes that both players will be fit.
Cork are, once again, without John O’Flynn (groin) but Denis Behan returns from suspension.
