Aston Villa’s Milan Baros has been included in the 23-man squad Czech Republic squad for the forthcoming World Cup play-offs against Norway.

The striker has missed Villa’s last six matches with an Achilles injury against Holland on October 8 but is expected to return to face old club Liverpool on Saturday.

Star midfielder Pavel Nedved has decided to return from international retirement to help his country reach next year’s finals in Germany.

Czech coach Karel Bruckner said: “I have always said our team is strong and with Nedved it is even stronger. The quality of our midfield has been lifted up with his arrival.”

Chelsea duo Petr Cech and Jiri Jarosik – the latter currently on loan at Birmingham – are also named in the squad.
