St. Patrick’s stunned leaders Cork with their first win in 13 games - despite finishing with nine men.
Saints were well up for it from the start are were the better side in the first half. John McDonnell’s side took the lead on 63 minutes when Robbie Doyle’s cross from the left was headed home by central defender Darragh Maguire.
Vinny Perth was first to see red when sent off on 68 minutes for a second booking as Saints clung onto their lead.
Fellow midfielder Michael Foley was then also dismissed in the final minutes, also for two bookings.
