Samuel Eto'o has made a brilliant start in his race to be crowned top Primera Liga scorer this season.

Last season Barcelona's Cameroon international forward was pipped by Villarreal's Uruguayan striker Diego Forlan in the race for the title of "pichichi" (top scorer).

Forlan, 26, scored 25 goals compared to 24 for 24-year-old Eto'o but this season the two-time African Player of the Year has already established a big lead over his rival.

His two goals in Saturday's 3-0 win over Osasuna at the Nou Camp have taken his total to nine goals in eight matches while Forlan has managed only a single strike in seven games.
