Gareth McGlynn and Mark Farren scored the goals to keep Derry top of the table - until Tuesday at least.

Derry, keen to avenge their only home defeat this season, dominated the first half with the best chance falling to Farren on 45 minutes only for their topscorer to shoot wide across goal.

But Farren provided the vital touch from Ciaran Martyn’s cross for McGlynn to shoot Derry in front on 51 minutes.

Farren then slotted home a penalty 12 minutes from time after Rovers' left-back Keith Doyle had been sent off for handball.
