James extends City deal

David James has signed a one-year contract extension with Manchester City.

The deposed England keeper’s current deal was due to expire in the summer but, although he has been axed from Sven-Goran Eriksson’s squad, Blues boss Stuart Pearce has been sufficiently impressed with the 35-year-old’s performances this term to extend his stay at Eastlands.
