Hoops edge Dalymount thriller
Shamrock Rovers 4 Longford Town 2
Rovers came from behind with a late volley of goals to run out deserved winners in this Dalymount thriller.
Marc Kenny played his captain Trevor Molloy in to score on 27 minutes to give Rovers the lead.
But that lasted just four minutes as ex-Rovers striker Dave Mooney punished a mistake by Mark Rutherford to equalise.
Mooney then put Town in front six minutes into the second half. But Rovers hit back to level when Molloy set up Willo McDonagh to score.
Molloy was again involved to assist Lee Roche in putting Rovers in front on 74 minutes before Mark Quigley clinched it with the fourth goal in the final minutes.
