Adrian Serioux has quit Millwall to care for his ill mother in Canada.

The 26-year-old midfielder has decided to leave the Lions to return to his home country after discussions with manager Colin Lee.

“My football career has to go on the back burner for now,” Serioux told the club’s official website.

“It’s hard to concentrate on the game when I know things might not be well with my mother. My upbringing means my family always comes first and the most important thing is for me to go back.”
