Kon can catch Cole - Pardew

West Ham boss Alan Pardew has championed Paul Konchesky’s claims for a recall to the England squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Austria and Poland.

England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson names his squad on Sunday evening and with Wayne Bridge only just returning to full fitness it appears Konchesky and Liverpool’s Stephen Warnock are battling it out for a place as Ashley Cole’s understudy.
