Amoruso: Rangers defence could face more misery
Lorenzo Amoruso believes the Rangers defence face further misery against the likes of Adriano and Obafemi Martins if they are not fully switched on in the San Siro.
The former Ibrox skipper knows Inter Milan have the players to gun down the Bank of Scotland Premier League champions.
But the Italian defender feels if Rangers can wipe the weekend loss at Tynecastle from their minds and tighten up at the back, then they can build on their opening Champions League Group H win over Porto with at least a draw.
“Everybody needs to up their game to get a good result,” said Amoruso.
“Alex McLeish will be working on them psychologically, trying to make the players forget about Saturday’s defeat against Hearts and trying to get a good performance.
“Don’t get me wrong, Inter Milan are a very powerful team and they have strikers who can make it very difficult for anyone in world football.
“Especially at the back, Rangers must be very careful of players like Adriano and Martins. They need to concentrate fully for the whole game. They will settle for a draw.”
Amoruso has also told Stefan Klos to be patient as his chance could be just around the corner.
The German has been forced to sit on the bench since returning from injury with the performances of Ronald Waterreus.
But Klos’ good friend and former team-mate believes he will bounce back.
“It’s definitely not an easy situation for him and I was in more or less the same situation at Blackburn,” Amoruso told BBC Scotland.
“The other goalkeeper is playing very well and I know it’s very difficult and upsetting for Stefan.
“But he has to live with it. He will know that in football sometimes these things can change so quickly because of injury, mistakes or some bad results.
“So Stefan needs to be patient and keep himself fit and ready for when that chance comes.”
