Win lifts Harps off the bottom
Finn Harps 3 Shamrock Rovers 0
Harps climbed off the foot of the table for the first time in seven weeks with this all too easy win.
Though Rovers had much of the ball they failed to create a single chance in the first half and found themselves a goal down on 37 minutes.
Chris Breen had been hauled down by Gavin McDonnell for what was Harps first penalty of the season and Kevin McHugh duly sent Barry Murphy the wrong way.
Harps caught Rovers cold within two minutes of the second half when Shane Bradley was left unmarked to head home Jonathan Minnock’s long throw.
Bradley then sealed it with his second goal of the night on 64 minutes with another header from player/boss Anthony Gorman’s corner.
Rovers had susbtitute Cathal O'Connor sent off on 75 minutes to complete a miserable night for the Hoops who are right back in the relegation mire now.
