Mido charged for red card reaction

Tottenham striker Mido has denied a Football Association charge of improper conduct and reqested a personal hearing.

The charge related to his reaction to his sending off for an aerial challenge on Asier del Horno during the match against Chelsea on August 27 and his failure to leave the field of play promptly.

Mido, who also failed with a claim of wrongful dismissal over the red card and is serving a three-match ban, appeared to lead with his arm 24 minutes into the game which Chelsea went on to win 2-0 at White Hart Lane.

The 22-year-old Egypt international was distraught following the red card brandished by referee Rob Styles and continued to protest his innocence following the final whistle.

A disciplinary commission will hear the case on September 20.
