Victory keeps Cork top
Cork City 3 Bray Wanderers 0
Cork gave boss Damien Richardson a pick-me-up after he was taken ill with a lung complaint earlier in the day with this empathic win at Turner’s Cross to remain two points clear at the top of the table.
Chris O’Connor kept Cork out twice inside the opening ten minutes with super stops, both from John O’Flynn, before his mistake gifted City the lead on 20 minutes.
O’Flynn robbed the Bray keeper on the edge of his area and squeezed his shot home from a tight angle.
Cork got well on top and added a second goal on 32 minutes when defender Derek Coughlan drilled home from Liam Kearney’s corner.
Roy O’Donovan capped the win with a third goal 12 minutes from time.
