Cardiff manager Dave Jones will not take any action against shamed Northern Ireland duo Jeff Whitley and Phil Mulryne.

Cardiff manager Dave Jones will not take any action against shamed Northern Ireland duo Jeff Whitley and Phil Mulryne.

The Bluebirds midfielders were sent home by national boss Lawrie Sanchez after allegedly breaking a squad curfew before the World Cup qualifier against England in Belfast.

“They’ve been punished and missed one of the biggest nights, maybe the biggest in Northern Ireland football history,” said Jones. “If that’s not a hard enough punishment, I don’t know what would be.

“They did what they did and will have to live with it. They’re both in my squad for the game at Burnley.”
