Cardiff land Ricketts
Cardiff have completed the loan signing of Leeds striker Michael Ricketts until the new year.
The 26-year-old has made five appearances for Kevin Blackwell’s side this season, mostly as a substitute, but with the signing of Richard Cresswell, Ricketts has fallen further down the pecking order at Elland Road.
The Bluebirds failed earlier in the day with a £300,000 (€438,353) offer for Wycombe striker Nathan Tyson, but have solved their striker crisis with the signing of Ricketts.
City boss Dave Jones told the club’s website, www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk: “I’m pleased to get the lad in – a player who at his best will be a big asset.
“Everybody deserves a second chance and I’m sure that Michael will give his best for Cardiff City.”
Ricketts has already turned down a move to Russian club Samara because he did not want to move to eastern Europe.
