Saints blessed to grab point at Coventry

Coventry maintained their unbeaten run at their new home – but offered Southampton a welcoming present they will not want to repeat too often this season.

Striker James Scowcroft put City in front by finishing off a flowing sixth-minute move, but a blunder from defender Robert Page allowed Ricardo Fuller to poach his first goal for Saints five minutes later.

Saints marksman Brett Ormerod hit the woodwork in a scrappy second half, but both managers will have been satisfied with a point from a full-blooded encounter.
