Derry maintain unbeaten run

League Cup finalists Derry made it 17 games unbeaten as their cruised into the quarter-finals of the FAI Carlsberg Cup.

Derry finally broke First Division County’s resolve to take the lead a minute before the break when Peter Hutton headed home Gareth McGlynn’s corner.

McGlynn then doubled Derry’s lead within five minutes of the second half with a superb lob from the edge of the area.

Mark Farren sealed Derry’s win with their third goal, tapping home from six yards, on 54 minutes for his 17th strike of the season.

Shay Zeller got County’s consolation goal on 64 minutes.
