Ibrox return for Clyde boss
Former Rangers defender Graham Roberts has been handed a return to Ibrox in the CIS Insurance Cup third round draw.
The ex-Chelsea and Tottenham man is now manager of Bell’s Second Division Clyde, whose reward for the midweek win over Peterhead is a trip to Glasgow.
But Falkirk will not be relishing their trip to face the other half of the Old Firm when they go to Celtic Park.
The Bairns were beaten 8-1 by the Hoops at the same stage of the competition last season.
Bank of Scotland Premier League leaders Hearts have been handed the short trip to Livingston, who are still without a win in the top flight this season.
Kilmarnock will play host to Dunfermline, while Dundee United will travel to Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the other all-SPL ties.
Aberdeen must make the long journey from the north-east to the south-west after being paired with Stranraer at Stair Park.
Second Division Ayr United will entertain Hibernian in a repeat of the 2003 CIS Cup semi-final.
Motherwell must defeat St Mirren at Love Street to progress to the quarter-finals of the competition.
The draw for the CIS Insurance Cup third round is:
Kilmarnock v Dunfermline
Livingston v Hearts
Inverness Caledonian Thistle v Dundee United
Stranraer v Aberdeen
Celtic v Falkirk
Ayr United v Hibernian
Rangers v Clyde
St Mirren v Motherwell
Ties to be played on September 20 and 21
