Emile Heskey will return to the Birmingham attack for the derby with West Brom at The Hawthorns.

The England striker missed the last two games against Manchester City and Middlesbrough because of a hip injury, suffered on the opening day of the campaign at Fulham.

Midfielder Damien Johnson will also be back in contention after completing a four-game ban which stretches back to the end of last season.

Blues manager Steve Bruce has still to decide whether to give a start to Mikael Forssell and Muzzy Izzet after their lengthy injury lay-offs.

Provisional squad: Taylor, Melchiot, Cunningham, Upson, Lazaridis, Pennant, Tebily, Butt, Clemence, Jarosik, Pandiani, Heskey, Johnson, Forssell, Izzet, Gray, Vaesen, Clapham.
