Cork City to play Slavia Prague

Damien Richardson's Cork City have drawn Czech side Slavia Prague in the UEFA Cup first round in today’s draw in Monaco.

City will play the away leg first on September 15 before taking the Czech’s back to Turner’s Cross on September 29.

Having overcame Ekranes and Djurgarden to reach the first round of the competition, City have been given a tough draw against one of the top teams from the Czech Republic.

Slavia have played in European competition on 22 previous occasions though their form at the start of this season has been patchy as they are currently mid-table after three games.
