Dundalk take on local rivals Drogs

Having got the game cleared go ahead for the third time yesterday, Dundalk will take on local rivals Drogheda United on their new plastic pitch at Oriel Park.

The FAI gave the game the go ahead early in the week while FIFA's officials then passed the pitch for use on Wednesday before the match referee deemed the pitch playable yesterday.

Drogheda United are still unsure of the use of the pitch believing that the new surface has yet to "settle" though manager Paul Doolin insists he has no problem playing on it.

Dundalk will be without John Flanagan, Seamus McCabe and Chris Bennion while Peter Hynes is a serious doubt with an upset stomach.

Drogheda United will be without cup tied pair Jason Gavin and Keith Fahey though Graham Gartland and Paul Keegan return from suspension and injury respectively.
