City run goes on as Sunderland lose again
Sunderland 1 Man City 2
Manchester City extended their unbeaten run under Stuart Pearce to 11 Premiership games with a finishing master-class at Sunderland.
Darius Vassell gave his side the perfect start with a well-taken 10th-minute opener at the Stadium of Light and Trevor Sinclair made it two on 35 minutes with an equally impressive effort.
Anthony Le Tallec, who had earlier passed up two glorious opportunities, pulled one back for the home side four minutes before the break to set up a second-half fightback, but City held firm to continue their encouraging start to the season while Mick McCarthy's wait for a Premiership win goes on.
