Nakamura seeks Hoops revenge
Celtic midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura has vowed to take revenge on Rangers in the next Old Firm game.
The Japanese playmaker endured a miserable first taste of the Glasgow derby having been taken off early in the 3-1 defeat at Ibrox on Saturday.
But the former Reggina favourite is backing his team-mates to get their own back when the two sides clash next.
âIâve played in a derby match before â but nothing on this scale,â Nakamura told the Scottish Sun.
âThe atmosphere was hostile and against us. It was a bad experience as we lost 3-1.
âI feel sorry for the many people who were praying for a Celtic win but I promise them we will take revenge on Rangers in the next match. We have to.â
Celtic, meanwhile, have hinted they are unlikely to make an appeal against Alan Thompsonâs straight red card.
They have accused Donald McVicar, the head of refereeing development, of prejudicing any future appeal against his dismissal.
âIrrespective of whether any appeal is lodged or not, given the comments made by the SFAâs head of refereeing, Donald McVicar, it is unlikely that any appeal would be given a fair hearing,â said a club spokesperson last night.
