Rovers out of bottom two
Waterford United 0 Shamrock Rovers 1
Kieran Foley scored the winner on his debut as Rovers leapfrogged Blues out of the bottom two.
Foley struck for the only goal on 68 minutes when stabbing home after Blues’ keeper Packie Holden could only parry a header from Jason McGuinness.
Blues enjoyed the early possession but Vinny Sullivan lobbed over the bar to waste their best chance.
Rovers responded with two good chances seeing Cathal Sweetman and Mark Rutherford blazing over and wide.
