Leicester sign Hamill from Hearts
Leicester manager Craig Levein has raided former club Hearts to sign winger Joe Hamill on a three-year contract after agreeing an undisclosed fee with the Edinburgh club.
The 21-year-old is expected to go straight into the Foxes squad to face Ipswich at the Walkers Stadium tomorrow.
Levein said: “We’ve brought Joe down here with a view to the future and he’ll initially be something of a fringe player. He’s very much a raw talent at the moment but he’ll add much-needed depth to our small squad.”
Hamill’s arrival comes just three days after Leicester winger Momo Sylla fell victim to the hamstring problem which will rule him out of the game against Ipswich.
Levein, who quit as Tynecastle boss to take over at Leicester last October, had already signed Mark de Vries, Alan Maybury and Patrick Kisnorbo from the Scottish Premier League outfit.
