Cork City goalkeeper Michael Devine is set to make a return to action against Djurgarden on Thursday – just four weeks after sustaining a problematic shoulder problem.

Devine has not played since picking up a shoulder injury during Cork’s 2-0 UEFA Cup victory over Ekranes of Lithuania.

In the meantime, 41- year-old Phil Harrington and rookie ‘keeper Mark McNulty have deputised but the 32-year-old looks set to return if he comes through a friendly in Midleton today.

Cork manager Damien Richardson said: “Mark McNulty has done very well for us but Michael Devine’s experience means that he has to come into contention.”
