City cough up for Bruton

Cork City have paid a small transfer fee to Waterford United for signing Willie Bruton.

Bruton asked for his contract with Waterford be terminated but was soon in negotiations with Cork about a potential move to the League leaders, which annoyed the Blues who felt that their decision to allow Bruton to leave was been taken advantage of by a rival.

However, negotiations between the club have now hammered out an amicable agreement after Cork made an offer of compensation.
