Chelsea must be 'persuasive' to sign Essien - Lyon Chief

Lyon have signalled they are willing to do a deal to sell Michael Essien to Chelsea but only if the Premiership champions are “very persuasive”.

Club president Jean-Michel Aulas said after yesterday’s 2-1 victory over Le Mans that it was “annoying” that the 22-year-old Ghanaian midfielder was leaving – but added that a deal was not yet done.
