Drogs sign Fahey from St Pat's

Drogheda United have signed former Ireland Youth midfielder Keith Fahey from St Patrick’s Athletic in a move that sees Alan Reilly move in the opposite direction.

Fahey will go straight into the Drogheda team to face Longford Town on Sunday after impressing in his two seasons with the Saints.

Fahey was Ireland’s hottest property as a teenager moving from Arsenal to Aston Villa when just 16 but he failed to make the grade in England and returned home, initially with Cherry Orchard, before joining St Pats in 2003.

His range of passing and ability from free kicks made him an instant favourite at Richmond Park and attracted interest from Drogheda and from England where Burnley were monitoring his progress.
