Cronin steals spoils for lucky Longford
Longford Town 1 Finn Harps 0
Gary Cronin was Longford’s super sub with his first goal for the club. On the pitch five minutes, Cronin side-footed home 12 minutes from time after fellow substitute Paul Keegan squared the ball to him inside the area.
That was harsh on Harps who, orchestrated in midfield by Anthony Gorman, had been the better side in the second half.
Jonathan Minnock had shaved the Town bar while Kevin McHugh brought a good stop from keeper Stephen O’Brien.
Town had had the better of the first half but wasted chances from Dessie Baker and Alan Kirby.
