The 28-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal at Loftus Road and is delighted to be joining the club he followed as a boy.

“The first game I ever attended was Arsenal v QPR at Highbury and I was standing by all the QPR fans so I followed the club when I was growing up,” Nygaard told the club’s official website www.qpr.co.uk.

“Many of my friends said I should play in England because it would suit my style. I am a very physical player and look forward to playing in the Championship.”

Rangers boss Ian Holloway has been in the hunt for a top-class striker for some time and the 6ft 5in targetman should provide a powerful presence in their forward line this season.
