Bohs to sign O'Keeffe
Bohemians will sign St Patrick’s Athletic striker Aiden O’Keeffe today on a free transfer after the Saints agreed to allow the out-of-favour star to move for free.
O’Keeffe, 23, hit 10 goals last season but has failed to nail down a regular starting place in the side this season and, with plenty of other attacking options, St Pats’ manager John McDonnell was prepared to let the striker leave.
Bohemians’ player-manager Gareth Farrelly has been tracking the striker’s progress all season and made his move to bolster his slim choices in attack where he has just Tony Grant, Stephen Ward, Dominic Foley and currently injured youngster David Bracken as options.
Farrelly said: “I’ve been to see him play a few times and he will give us options up front and on either flank. He was top scorer for St Pat’s last season and has got pace which is a big asset in this League.”
