With league officials struggling to assess how many fans the new club – formed as part of the anti-Malcolm Glazer protest movement at Manchester United – will have, they have opted to let them play their first match at the 5,000-capacity home of Leek Town on the same day as Glazer’s Red Devils open their Premiership campaign at Everton.
