FC United get first fixture

Fledgling North West Counties Division Two outfit FC United will begin life with an away fixture at Leek CSOB on Saturday, August 13.

With league officials struggling to assess how many fans the new club – formed as part of the anti-Malcolm Glazer protest movement at Manchester United – will have, they have opted to let them play their first match at the 5,000-capacity home of Leek Town on the same day as Glazer’s Red Devils open their Premiership campaign at Everton.
