Coventry have signed Leicester defender Matt Heath on a two-year contract.

The centre-back, who was also being tracked by Championship newcomers Hull, has joined the Sky Blues for an undisclosed fee.

Meanwhile, striker Trevor Benjamin has turned down the offer of a new contract at City to join League Two club Peterborough on a three-year deal.

The 26-year-old had agreed terms on a new contract and reported for pre-season training at City’s Ryton base.

However, Benjamin stalled on putting pen to paper and Coventry have now confirmed he has signed for Posh instead.

“I’m very disappointed Trevor has opted to join Peterborough at the 11th hour after agreeing a deal with us,” said Coventry boss Micky Adams.

“He’s been training with us for the last week and he has changed his mind at a very critical time as we prepare for the new campaign.”
