Longford stage comeback to sink Rovers

Stephen Paisley and Sean Dillon came to Longford’s defence to beat battling Rovers.

Town took the game to depleted Rovers with Andy Myler shaving the bar while Rovers’ keeper Barry Murphy made a terrific save with his feet from Dean Fitzgerald.

However, Rovers stunned Town to take the lead on 49 minutes when Gavin McDonnell headed home Trevor Molloy’s cross.

But left-back Paisley levelled with a 20-yard shot on 73 minutes before fellow defender Dillon won the match with a cracking drive Murphy couldn’t keep out five minutes later.
