Wesley wanders off to Russia league

Bray Wanderers defender Wesley Charles will join Russian First Division outfit Rovtov tomorrow when the transfer window opens.

The St Vincents and Grenadines international has spent five years at the Carlisle Grounds. “It’s a marvellous opportunity for Wesley and we wish him well,” said Bray manager Pat Devlin.

“We would never stand in the way of advancing his career. The Russian League is up there among the best in Europe.”

The deal will initially be a loan though it is likely to be made permanent.
