The eircom League today announced the 2005 League Cup Quarter-final fixtures, which for the first time in 10 years include an all-Premier Division line-up.

The eircom League today announced the 2005 League Cup Quarter-final fixtures, which for the first time in 10 years include an all-Premier Division line-up.

The last time eight Premier Division sides made it to the quarter-finals of the League Cup was in 1994-95. Cork City went on to lift the League Cup by beating Dundalk in the final 2-1 on aggregate.

This year two quarter-final fixtures take place in Dublin next Monday, and the remaining two ties take place in Cork and Derry the following evening.

Matches finishing level after 90 minutes’ play will go to 30 minutes of extra-time and penalties if necessary.

On Monday July 4 UCD host Waterford United at Belfield Park (k-o 7.45pm) while Shelbourne entertain St Patrick’s Athletic at Tolka Park (ko 8pm) in the round’s Dublin derby match.

On Tuesday July 5, holders Longford Town face Premier Division leaders Cork City at Turner’s Cross (ko 7.45pm) while Derry City host Drogheda United at the Brandywell (k-o 8pm).
